Jaybird Courts Press Attention Ahead of Reign Launch

SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 25, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Jaybird, a Salt Lake City based lifestyle electronics brand, is ready to show off its highly anticipated advanced activity tracker, Reign. On October 3rd, Jaybird will be hosting a press event that will give select athletes, reviewers, and journalists the opportunity to get their hands on Reign three weeks prior to its October 26th public release. Reign was first announced at CES in January of 2014, and was initially scheduled for release in the spring. That date was later pushed back to its current release date, creating a great deal of expectation among the brand's followers.

The device promises to disrupt the athletic wearables market with features such as precision heart rate variability testing, automatic sleep tracking, and highly accurate motion tracking that sorts your day by activity. Activity categories include walking, running, biking, swimming, general, and sport. The device's smartphone application will also feature a screen called "Go-Zone" that will use data collected by Reign to tell you how ready your body is to be active.

The press event will be held at the Tower at University of Utah's Rice-Eccles Stadium. It will consist of biking, running, and swimming demonstrations showcasing Reign. Also on the agenda are a number of speakers and a Q & A panel with Reign's development staff. Jaybird's executive team expects the event to pique industry and consumer interest ahead of release day.
