Oxford China Business Forum: "Transformational Change in China"

Saïd Business School, University of Oxford will hold its 2nd Oxford China Business Forum on 14 October 2014 at The Peninsula Beijing. The theme of the Forum will be "Transformational Change in China" and sessions will consider both the challenge of shifting development models in China and of nurturing the innovative and globally competitive organizations that such a change requires. Participants will explore new sources of competitive advantage for China in both the public and private sector, through mixed –ownership reform, innovation and entrepreneurship. It will be an opportunity for focused dialogue between thought leaders, influential entrepreneurs from Chinese and multinational firms, and members of the University of Oxford.

- Stephen Green (Baron Green of Hurstpierpoint), Former UK Minister of State for Trade and Investment and Group Chairman of HSBC Holdings
- Tina Ju, Managing Partner at KPCB
- Gordon Orr, Chairman of McKinsey Asia
- Gary Rieschel, Founding Managing Partner of Qiming Ventures
- Dr. Ning Tang, CEO of CreditEase
- Dr. Peng Zhou, Founder and CEO, SinoEV technologies.
The Forum will be introduced by Professor Peter Tufano , Dean of Saïd Business School. Professor Colin Mayer, Dr Eric Thun and Dr Li Jin will contribute to the discussions.
This 2014 Forum marks the School's closer ties with the Chinese business community and its increasing commitment to contributing to China's sustainable economic development. Approximately 150 guests will participate including senior policy-makers from China and the UK, senior business leaders, faculty and alumni of Saïd Business School, Oxford.
"China is an important focus of the Saïd Business School and in the upcoming Forum we seek to combine expertise from Oxford with insight from leading figures in the Chinese business community in order to contribute to two of the most important debates within policy-making circles in China: how to improve governance in the state sector and how to promote entrepreneurship and innovation throughout the Chinese economy" said Dr Eric Thun, Lecturer in Chinese Business Studies.
