Due to wide usage of BASH (in Linux and Unix environments, including embedded systems), and degree of access it provides, hackers can leverage this vulnerability to compromise and/or damage systems with ease.

- After much testing and verification, E-Complish can say with certainty that this effort was completed as of September 25, 2014 at 7:10PM EDT.
- Additionally, E-Complish engineers are now updating detection signatures for all relevant devices to improve its ability to detect attempts at exploiting this vulnerability inside the E-Complish environment.
E-Complish will continue to monitor this situation closely and take actions to protect not only the E-Complish infrastructure, but most importantly, all E-Complish client data.
