CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico, Sept. 26, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - On September 26, Solmar Resorts was honored to welcome Mexico's President, Enrique Peña Nieto, to Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa to address a group of assembled Cabo residents and business owners about the federal government's plan to assist in the restoration of Cabo San Lucas back to normalcy. He discussed the five different key aspects of the recovery as well as discussing his hands-on approach.

President Peña Nieto started his speech by communicating the government's priority and focus on ensuring the proper care and support for all of those who were affected by Hurricane Odile. His main goal is to restore all of Baja California Sur to normalcy as soon as possible in preparation for the high season of travel, an industry that Cabo San Lucas relies on.

Since Hurricane Odile made landfall on Cabo, President Peña Nieto has returned to Cabo three separate times in order to coordinate the recovery efforts that the local government has implemented to clean up Cabo. He has had such a hands-on approach in order to ensure that contingency and progress are being made.

Solmar Hotel & Resorts reports that there have been five different goals that President Peña Nieto and the government have focused on in order to restore Cabo to normalcy as soon as possible.

1. The establishment of order and security for the State in the aftermath of the hurricane.

2. Support for tourists to return to their homes after the hurricane hit.

3. The restoration of public services such as electricity as soon as possible after Hurricane Odile hit.

4. Reviving the economy.

5. Ensuring that the affected population has food, shelter and health services.

Solmar Hotels & Resorts shares that the President is extremely positive and confident that Baja California Sur will recover and that its inhabitants will soon resume their normal activities. With the high season of travel approaching, he feels that Cabo will once again be able to welcome hundreds of thousands of tourists to its white, sandy beaches and clear, blue waters. He ended the speech by saying that the entire Mexican Government, and indeed, all of Mexico is standing behind Cabo and sending support to the city and its people.
