Vital Therapies Announces Launch of Proposed Follow-On Offering


SAN DIEGO, Sept. 30, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Vital Therapies, Inc. (Nasdaq:VTL), a biotherapeutic company developing ELAD®, a cell-based therapy targeting the treatment of acute liver failure, today announced that it plans to commence an underwritten public offering of 2,500,000 shares of its common stock. In addition, Vital Therapies intends to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 375,000 shares of its common stock. The offering is subject to market conditions, and there can be no assurance as to whether or when the offering may be completed, or as to the actual size or terms of the offering.

BofA Merrill Lynch is acting as sole book-running manager for the offering. William Blair is acting as lead manager and Canaccord Genuity and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey are acting as co-managers for the offering.
