InterCloud Systems, Inc. Launches Business Practice for Juniper Networks SDN/NFV Solutions to Help Enterprise and Service Providers Speed New Services, Boost Revenue, Improve Loyalty

Accelerates Deployment of Network Functions Virtualization and Software-Defined Networks

SHREWSBURY, N.J., Oct. 1, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- InterCloud Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:ICLD) today announced that it has created a practice specializing in cloud-based solutions with Juniper Networks' Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) technologies. The group will include design, development, deployment, and support for Juniper's Contrail and Contrail OpenStack distributions. As part of this initiative, InterCloud will offer network as a service (NAS).

To adapt to modern subscriber demands and data usage, service providers need to accelerate the deployment of new services to bolster revenue and increase customer loyalty; however, most lack the resources and expertise to handle this transformation internally. To aid in this, the convergence of SDN and NFV, based on open APIs (application program interfaces), makes it possible to reduce the time to deploy new networking services to support changing business requirements, seize new market opportunities and improve return on investment of new services.

InterCloud's SDN business practice includes a migration strategy that simplifies management of these solutions by taking sole ownership of the delivery of the complete solution. In most cases, multiple vendors own different components of the solution, which creates unnecessary complexity and organizational roadblocks in implementing SDN/NFV. InterCloud and Juniper have jointly identified common use cases for both service provider and enterprise network environments to help assure their unique virtual-network needs can be met.

In addition, InterCloud's extensive catalog of software to cloud offerings will become a valuable extension of Juniper's professional services capabilities of providing high value consulting and delivery services to Juniper's customers.

"As organizations turn on cloud services, the need to automate the network, create, deploy, and scale new services becomes extremely critical for success. InterCloud's Professional Services capability combined with Juniper's cloud networking solutions enables InterCloud clients to build private and hybrid clouds at scale," said, Dan Miller, senior vice president, worldwide alliances and channels, Juniper Networks.

"The goal of this initiative is to leverage Juniper's market leading technologies to offer flexible, elastic and scalable SDN/NFV and software defined data center-based cloud services, to our mutual customers," said Frank Jadevaia, president of InterCloud. "To that end, we have also developed a high value arm in our professional services business unit, to offer full ecosystem support around these burgeoning technologies."
