American Beacon Advisors Launches American Beacon Crescent Short Duration High Income Fund

Fund Will Use A Credit-Intensive Research Process That Seeks To Exploit Credit Market Inefficiencies

FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 1, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - American Beacon Advisors ("American Beacon"), an experienced provider of investment advisory services to retail and institutional clients, today launched the American Beacon Crescent Short Duration High Income Fund (Institutional Class: ACHIX, A Class: ACHAX).

The American Beacon Crescent Short Duration High Income Fund will invest primarily in high yield fixed income securities and bank loans rated below investment grade. The Fund's investment strategy is to tactically allocate among a variety of credit investments to achieve a high level of current income regardless of the overall credit or interest rate environment.

"Our clients and shareholders are continually looking to evolve their total portfolio strategies in a consistently changing marketplace," said Gene L. Needles, American Beacon President and CEO. "Our latest product provides another option for investors to work toward their investment objectives while continuing our goal of diversifying our overall product lineup."

The Fund's sub-advisor, Crescent Capital Group ("Crescent"), an SEC-registered investment adviser, is headquartered in Los Angeles with offices in Boston, London and New York. With more than 60 investment professionals and 120 employees, the firm invests at all levels of the capital structure with a significant focus on below investment grade credit through strategies that invest in senior bank loans, high yield debt, mezzanine debt, distressed debt and other private debt securities. As of June 30, 2014, Crescent Capital Group manages approximately $15 billion in assets, with a relatively equal split between marketable securities and proprietary closed-end private investment partnerships.

"We are pleased to partner with American Beacon to offer investors access to our multi-asset class strategy, which provides income-focused returns based on active allocations across multiple credit asset classes," said Mark Attanasio, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Crescent. "Our approach has been honed over a number of credit cycles and focuses on identifying and investing in high-quality companies with strong management teams, leadership positions in their respective industries and attractive credit metrics."
