LRAD Corporation Receives $623,000 of Orders for Mass Notification Systems in Asia

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 2, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LRAD Corporation (NASDAQ: LRAD), the world's leading provider of long range acoustic hailing devices (AHDs), and the most advanced mass notification systems, today announced the receipt of orders totaling $623,000 for LRAD® 360X systems and accessories from several Asian towns, cities, and public utilities. The orders were received from a customer in Asia that is replacing and upgrading existing siren-based mass notification warning systems to state-of-the-art LRAD mass notification systems. These orders are scheduled for delivery during the first fiscal quarter ending December 31, 2014.

"We continue to expand and strengthen our business in Asia as indicated by this follow-on order for mass notification products, which are being installed to replace and upgrade existing legacy systems, based on the reputation for high quality, intelligibility and clarity of our Long Range Acoustic Devices®," noted Tom Brown, President and CEO of LRAD Corporation. "Based on our superior product offerings, we expect to continue to increase revenues and market share in the mass notification market during the 2015 fiscal year."

Unlike the limited voice capability of legacy speaker-based systems and emergency warning siren systems, the LRAD 360X product line brings the same unsurpassed vocal clarity, performance and reliability of its LRAD systems to emergency warning and mass notification. Featuring LRAD's proprietary technology, every word of a LRAD 360X broadcast is heard and understood over areas covering up to 5.3 square kilometers. Each system is comprised of between one and four LRAD 360X emitters to enable the customization of the broadcast area. The system can be activated and monitored by IP, digital or analog radio, GSM/GPRS and/or Satellite. The LRAD 360X delivers LRAD's renowned powerful, clear and intelligible voice and alarm tone broadcasts with uniform 360 degree coverage. The lightweight and efficient LRAD 360X Quad emitter can project sound at 123 dB at 30 meters covering distances greater than 1200 meters radius at 70 dB. The LRAD Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Software is scalable providing dynamic map-based area selection tools to optimize alert and remote monitoring.
