Tallinn, 2014-10-03 08:50 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Statistics for September 2014 and the third quarter of the 2014 financial year
In September 2014 AS Tallink Grupp transported 593 064 passengers which is nearly an 11% decrease compared to September 2013. The number of passenger vehicles decreased over 5% to 84 707 and the number of trucks and trailers increased more than 1% to 27 885 units in same comparison.
In the third quarter of the 2014 financial year (July-September) AS Tallink Grupp transported 2 561 257 passengers which is nearly a 6% decrease compared to the previous year. The number of passenger vehicles decreased by almost 4% to 354 302 units transported and the number of trucks and trailers increased by 1% to 76 830 units in same comparison.

The following operational factors influenced the development in September 2014:
FINLAND-SWEDEN
In September the cruise ferry Silja Symphony did not operate for 25 days due to scheduled maintenance and reconstruction works, the vessel was not replaced during that time.
ESTONIA-FINLAND
In August 2014 the cruise ferry Baltic Queen started operating on the Tallinn-Helsinki route, replacing the cruise ferry Silja Europa.
ESTONIA-SWEDEN
In August 2014 the cruise ferry Romantika started operating on the Tallinn-Stockholm route, replacing the cruise ferry Baltic Queen.
LATVIA-SWEDEN
In August 2014 the cruise ferry Romantika stopped operating on the Riga-Stockholm route, the cruise ferry Isabelle continues operating on the route.
