About the Lawsuit

Bankrate and certain of its executives are charged with issuing a series of materially false and misleading statements during the Class Period, violating federal securities laws.

On September 15, 2014, Bankrate disclosed that the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") has requested documents related to its financial reporting during 2012, and that Chief Financial Officer, Edward DiMaria has resigned. Bankrate further announced that in connection with the SEC's investigations, investors should no longer rely on its financial statements for 2011, 2012, and 2013.

On this news, the price of Bankrate's shares plummeted by over 22%.
