NEW YORK, Oct. 7, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - CLSA Americas, the North American affiliate of leading Hong Kong based research and advisory firm CLSA, is pleased to announce that Michael Lean has been named Director of Equity Research, Americas. Mr. Lean will join the firm in mid-December and will be based in New York. He will report directly to CLSA Americas Chief Executive Officer Rick Gould.
Mr. Lean has over 15 years of financial markets experience and joins CLSA Americas from Nomura Securities where he held several senior positions. Most recently, he was Head of the U.S. Equity Research department, responsible for department strategy, hiring initiatives and content development. Prior to Nomura, Mr. Lean was a senior vice president with Lehman Brothers, where he held senior positions within the equity research sales and product management teams with a focus on technology, media, and telecom product globally. He began his career working in the equity research department at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. He earned his MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business and his BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
CLSA Americas also announced the hiring of Michael D'Arcangelo, Managing Director; Glenn Firestone, Managing Director; James Gillan, Vice President, all within the Equities division and based in New York. Daniel Gilroy, Vice President, will work within Equities and be based in Boston.
Mr. D'Arcangelo will join from Macquarie Bank and brings more than 25 years experience in institutional equities. He was previously a Managing Director of Institutional Equity Sales dedicated to hedge funds at Barclays Capital. Mr. Firestone joins from Macquarie Bank where was a Managing Director and Global Head of the Commission Management Group, and was previously a Managing Director at Bank of America. Mr. Gillan joins from Canaccord Genuity where he worked in institutional sales. Mr. Gilroy joins from Vertical Research Partners where he worked in institutional sales.
