InsureXSolutions Partners with Illinois Chamber of Commerce to Increase Health Insurance Awareness

Series of Webinars Educate Small Business Owners on Exchanges, Individual Health Plan Options and Compliance Considerations

ROSEMONT, Ill., Oct. 7, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- InsureXSolutions® is excited to announce an educational campaign to spread awareness of small business health insurance options in Illinois. In partnership with the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, small businesses are encouraged to attend a series of webinars that feature exchange options, individual health plans and compliance considerations, among others.

The four-part webinar series started in September and runs through December 2014. The next topic for small businesses, Individual Health Plans for Employees: What Employers Need to Know, is scheduled for October 15. The webinar will take a closer look at the opportunity for small businesses to offer individual plans, while revealing any compliance considerations. The free webinar will be conducted by David Lindgren, Compliance Officer at Flexible Benefit Service Corporation (Flex), who operates and offers the InsureXSolutions private insurance exchange.

"Open enrollment begins November 15. We are excited to offer free webinars to educate small businesses on the requirements during open enrollment," said Jennifer Hammer, Associate Vice President and Legal Counsel, Government Affairs, Executive Director, Healthcare Council, Illinois Chamber of Commerce. "This webinar series will explain the concept of an exchange, the requirements under the Affordable Care Act and allow employers to ask questions."

According to a recent study conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation, the average cost for a family health plan has increased by 69 percent in the past ten years. While it's expected that these costs will only continue to rise, small business owners will also begin to show an increased interest in the more affordable option the private exchange market now offers.

"We want to make sure small businesses in Illinois are prepared for the upcoming 2015 open enrollment season," said John DiVito, President at Flex. "By partnering with the Illinois Chamber, our goal is to make sure every small business owner is aware of the health insurance options available to them and their employees."

InsureXSolutions powers the Illinois Chamber Benefits Exchange, which was launched in late 2014. InsureXSolutions also provides all resources associated with the Exchange, including web site operations, educational tools, decision support services and more. With the Exchange, small businesses are making their employees' transition to mandated health coverage more seamless and less stressful. The Exchange offers employees the opportunity to shop and purchase health coverage that fits their specific needs.
