Alfa Laval wins SEK 290 million oil and gas order for OLMI air cooled heat exchangers

Alfa Laval – a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid
handling – has won a record-size order for air cooled heat exchangers, to be
installed in an oil and gas production facility in Kazakhstan. The order, booked
in the Energy & Process segment, has a value of approximately SEK 290 million.
Delivery is scheduled for 2015 and 2016.
The order includes Alfa Laval OLMI air cooled heat exchangers together with
control and installation equipment and will be used in gas injection for
enhanced oil recovery at an oil and gas facility near the Tengiz field. The heat
exchangers will be used in a very demanding cooling application, handling high
pressure and aggressive gas in the oil extraction process.

The Alfa Laval OLMI air cooled heat exchangers will be part of a capacity
expansion, which will increase the oil production from 13 million tonnes of oil
to more than 25 million tonnes per annum.

“This is our largest order to date in Alfa Laval and I am very pleased that it
includes our OLMI heat exchangers, specifically designed for this kind of
demanding applications,” says Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval
Group.

Did you know that… Kazakhstan has produced oil since 1911 and has the second
largest oil reserves as well as the second largest oil production among the
former Soviet republics after Russia, according to US Energy Information
Administration?
