(Nasdaq:NXPI) has today announced the winners of its annual Supplier Awards at the company's fourth annual Supplier Day in Singapore. Senior executives from 90 of NXP's key suppliers were in attendance representing all spend areas (materials, equipment, foundry services, subcon services and indirect services).The event was hosted by Rick Clemmer, President and CEO, NXP Semiconductors under the theme of 'Quality Performance and Quality Partnerships'.

NXP senior executives spoke at the event about the company's vision of 'Secure Connections for a Smarter World' as well as giving key insights into end customer markets and discussing core business strategies in both High Performance Mixed Signal and Standard Products. NXP executives emphasized the need for strong collaboration with its supply base, focusing on uncompromising quality, flexible capacity, cost competitiveness, innovation and operational excellence as key enablers for NXP's strategy.

As recognition of superior performance in 2013, NXP presented awards to its highest performing suppliers across its seven key spend categories:

  • Best Supplier – Front-end materials: Shin-Etsu Handotai, silicon wafer manufacturer
  • Best Supplier – Front-end equipment: Applied Materials, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, software and services
  • Best Supplier – Foundry services: GLOBALFOUNDRIES, full-service semiconductor foundry
  • Best Supplier – Back-end materials: Linxens, flexible etched circuits for smart-cards
  • Best Supplier – Back-end equipment: Disco Corp., precision cutting, grinding and polishing equipment
  • Best Supplier – Subcon services: SPIL, Back end IC packaging turnkey solutions
  • Best Supplier – Indirect services: TATA Consultancy Services, IT Services

A Quality Award was also presented to the best supplier across all the spend categories.

  • Best Supplier – Quality: Heraeus Materials Technology GmbH & Co. KG, lead frames

In addition to the corporate supplier awards, NXP also acknowledged five Account Managers with the 'Customer Advocate' awards. These recognized the dedication of individuals and their commitment to drive collaboration between NXP and their respective companies.
