Independence Blue Cross wellness and community health executive speaks at PA Conference for Women

Kimberly Eberbach addresses positive impact of mindfulness on stress management

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 16, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, Independence Blue Cross (Independence) vice president of Wellness and Community Health Kimberly Eberbach will speak about the significant relationship between mindfulness – the idea of purposefully and non-judgmentally paying attention to the present moment -- and health during a panel discussion at the 11th annual Pennsylvania Conference for Women. The panel, titled "Minimizing Stress, Anxiety and Depression for Maximum Happiness," will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

A published author with twenty years of experience in talent management, strategic planning, leadership development, communications, training, and transformation efforts, Eberbach leads the development and execution of wellness-related strategies and programs for Independence employees and members, and the surrounding community.

"The benefit of incorporating mindfulness into our daily routines is that -- as a practice – it can help us change the way that we respond to the environment where we live and work, which can lead to reduced stress, anxiety, and depression," said Eberbach. "And mindfulness can be done at any moment of the day, making it an appealing option for our busy lives."

The Pennsylvania Conference for Women, a non-profit, non-partisan, one-day professional and personal development event for women, features topics such as health, personal finance, executive leadership, small business and entrepreneurship, work/life balance, branding and social media marketing. Keynote speakers at this year's sold out conference include actress and author Diane Keaton, Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts, and artist Candy Chang.
