New World Systems(R) & Esri(R) Announce Latest Mapping Breakthrough for Public Safety

TROY, Mich., Oct. 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- When lives are on the line, there is no time to waste.

New World Systems announces the release of Aegis™11.2 Suite of Public Safety Software. Public safety agencies and first responders will benefit from this enhanced integration with Esri's latest advancements in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This evolution in situational awareness and GIS, which is built upon Esri's ArcGIS Server Advanced Enterprise and ArcGIS run-time platforms, empowers agencies with the ability to:

  • Consume live data feeds including traffic and weather services
  • Route first responders to those in need faster and more accurately with proximity dispatch
  • Access external data sources including traffic, cameras, sensors, alarms, video and more
  • View and share data with neighboring agencies' GIS data sources and Esri ArcGIS services
  • Comply with NENA's NG9-1-1 addressing standards

Providing better situational awareness to dispatchers and first responders enables public safety personnel to draw upon real-time information that helps them get to those in need faster than ever. This allows users to spend less time referencing separate maps for traffic and weather while on the call, and more time on the scene.

New World's use of Esri's industry-standard tools provides public safety agencies' GIS departments with simple administration and eliminates the need for learning a new proprietary tool or paying for additional GIS data conversion services.

"With their integration with Esri's latest release, New World Systems is able to provide industry-leading situational awareness to public safety agencies," Esri Director of Public Safety Russ Johnson said. "We are excited about the opportunities to improve public safety as part of this recently announced development partnership."

New World's enhanced GIS integration was made possible through its development partnership with Esri's Business Partner Advantage Program (BPAP). This close partnership provides New World with the opportunity to constantly evolve its Aegis Suite of Public Safety Software with the goal of making public safety and GIS services better and easier to use. New World also takes part in Esri's private beta testing programs, and is the only public sector safety solution to do so.

"With our development partnership with Esri, we have raised the bar when it comes to embedded mapping in Public Safety software," Senior Vice President at New World Craig Bickley said. "As always, our goal is to make it easier for the thousands of dispatchers and first responders to protect and serve the millions of citizens that our software impacts."
