Metsä Group's wood products business continues to focus on efficiency

Metsä Group Press Release 23 October 2014

Metsä Wood, Metsä Group's wood products business area, initiates a performance improvement programme, which comprises sales growth projects, cost savings and structural changes.

As part of the programme, the need for personnel reduction has been estimated to be approximately 200 man-years in total, of which 140 would take place in Finland. The reductions in personnel are planned to be implemented in stages over the next two years. Reductions in production personnel are projected to materialise mainly through retirements.
