LogMeIn Named 2014 Boston Preservation Achievement Award Winner

Company Also Voted Fan Favorite in Public Vote

BOSTON, Oct. 24, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LogMeIn, Inc. (Nasdaq:LOGM), has been named a winner of the 2014 Boston Preservation Achievement Awards in recognition for the company's renovation and restoration of its corporate headquarters located at 320 Summer Street in Boston's Innovation District. The company's project was also voted the fan favorite 2014 Preservation Achievement Award winner by an online public vote.

The Preservation Achievement Awards are granted annually to honor outstanding achievements in historic preservation and compatible new construction in Boston. The LogMeIn building was originally constructed in 1904 as a warehouse for the Boston Wharf Company and was skillfully reinvented in 2013. LogMeIn reconstructed the building's interior as contemporary office space, retaining and exposing much of the original flooring, beams, brick, and stone.

"The successful blend of old and new is a concept the Alliance frequently promotes, and the decision by LogMeIn to rehabilitate this former Boston Wharf Company warehouse as their corporate headquarters is a superb example of this meshing of past, present, and future," said Greg Galer, Executive Director of the Boston Preservation Alliance. "Here the exterior of the building is superbly restored, while the massive, exposed, internal, wooden beams are set off with modern, hi-tech flair. LogMeIn is part of a wave of new, modern uses in the Landmark Fort Point District, and their project stood out for its quality, creativity, and execution as the best for 2014."

Working with their project team which included Lincoln Properties, Spagnolo Gisness & Associates and Suffolk Construction, LogMeIn kept the historical character of the building intact while creating a high-tech, collaborative environment for its employees.

"When relocating to Boston's Innovation District, we wanted to develop an environment within the historical nature of the building that would create a more compelling work environment for our existing employees while helping us attract new employees necessary to fuel our growth. Since our move we have increased our employees by 60 percent, adding more than 150 new employees over the last 18 months," said Jim Kelliher, CFO at LogMeIn. "Our open office space exemplifies the comfortable, collaborative and creative environment that technology employees expect and need in order to create great products. We're honored and thrilled to be recognized by the Preservation Alliance for our efforts in recreating this space."

Ten projects, including LogMeIn, were honored at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Faneuil Hall.
