USHCC and CTCA Promote Hispanic Health at 2014 National Convention

WASHINGTON, Oct. 24, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) and Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) announced a continued partnership during the USHCC 2014 National Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. The two organizations will continue advocacy and education efforts for the Hispanic community.

"CTCA's involvement at our National Convention highlighted the need to reinvest in our health as a community, and ensure that future generations have the knowledge and resources to lead full, successful lives," said USHCC President & CEO Javier Palomarez. "As a cancer care provider with an integrative approach to treatment and prevention, CTCA has not only educated our members on cancer prevention and treatment - it's encouraged business owners to promote the overall care and wellness of their employees. We are thrilled to be partnering with CTCA, and look forward to developing programs and initiatives that will advance healthy business practices."

With over 7,200 attendees, the USHCC 2014 National Convention was the largest gathering of Hispanic business leaders in American history, serving as a networking venue and educational opportunity, with informational workshops and distinguished speakers. Molly Stockley, Vice President of Hospital Growth for CTCA's Western Regional Medical Center, addressed convention attendees at the Women in Business and Leadership Luncheon, speaking about the increased risk of certain cancers affecting the Hispanic community, and the importance of prevention and early detection.

"Cancer Treatment Centers of America is pleased to continue to foster our partnership with the USHCC as we collectively strengthen our shared commitment toward building healthier Hispanic communities. We are inspired by the work of the USHCC and the opportunity to introduce our integrative cancer treatment services to the important national constituency it represents," said Gerard van Grinsven, CTCA President and CEO.
