Informatica Joins Deloitte on Advisory Board of Institute for Business Analytics at Indiana University Kelley School of Business

IT leader to help further develop business analytics research and curricula at Indiana University

Redwood City, Calif., Oct. 28, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Informatica Corporation (Nasdaq:INFA), the world's number one independent provider of data integration software, today announced that it is a new Supporting Partner of the Institute for Business Analytics (IBA) at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business.

This leadership role enables Informatica to join IBA Founding Member and longstanding industry collaborator, Deloitte, in supporting academic research and curricula in the burgeoning field of business analytics.

According to Idalene Kesner, dean, Kelley School of Business, the IBA will benefit from Informatica's input as the school continues to shape the future of business analytics. "We are delighted Informatica will leverage its relationship with Deloitte to guide the IBA in exploring how Big Data and other analytics tools are transforming business strategy, performance and decisions," Kesner said.

"Informatica eagerly supports IBA's efforts to prepare the workforce of the future to compete in this new, data-centric world," said Mike Pickett, vice president, Global Education Services, Informatica. "We thank Deloitte for spearheading our involvement, and look forward to collaborating with them and other IBA corporate members to prepare Kelley students for putting data to work for their future employers."

The Institute for Business Analytics (IBA), which was founded in 2012, supports academic programs that prepare students to solve business problems using analytics. It also forms corporate relationships that shape its understanding of analytics; facilitates cross-disciplinary research by faculty; organizes seminars, conferences and case competitions; and helps companies tap into Kelley's talent.

Deloitte, which joined the IBA in 2013 as its Founding Member, will work with Informatica and others to guide analytics education initiatives, according to Mark Zozulia, principal and Executive Sponsor to the IBA, Deloitte Consulting LLP.

"We are excited that Informatica, one of our key collaborators in the analytics and information management space, can also become a partner with the IBA to support innovative analytics research, classroom training, and educational initiatives," Zozulia said.

Informatica will join Deloitte and other sponsors in a variety of IBA events and activities, including the Kelley Forum on Business Analytics. The annual April event brings together Kelley stakeholders - students, faculty and corporate partners - to discuss opportunities and challenges in applying business analytics in organizations.
