Contest challenges students to conceptualize, design and present innovative mobile solutions that solve real business problems.

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky., Nov. 3, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tech Allies Consulting and Northern Kentucky University's College of Informatics gear up for the third annual 24 Hours of Mobile Innovation Contest (24 MIC) held at NKU's Griffin Hall on November 7th and 8th. The event brings together industry leaders, experts and the diverse student body of NKU, to create an engaging, real world business environment where teams are challenged to solve real problems through innovative technologies and mobile solutions.

The goal of 24 MIC is to guide students and universities into degree programs where there is real job market demand for today and in the future, by strengthening the collaboration of businesses and universities, and providing insight into industry trends.

This year's NKU event follows a successful, 24 MIC held at the University of Oklahoma (OU) this past February. The OU event was focused on the oil, gas, and energy industry, bringing together industry leaders Devon Energy, ConocoPhillips, and Phillips66 to sponsor and mentor the students during the event.

National ice cream truck franchise Kona Ice sponsors this year's event. Sponsorship funds goes to providing food, drinks, giveaways and prizes for the 2-day event.
