MORRISTOWN, N.J., Nov. 4, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Louis Berger has been awarded a $95 million, fixed-price contract to assist the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Pittsburgh District in responding to natural disasters and emergencies by providing temporary emergency power. The contract will continue through Oct. 21, 2019.

Depending on the identified emergency power needs, Louis Berger will support the USACE prior to, during and following federally declared emergencies in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Regions IX and X, and Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam and American Samoa.

"We are proud that USACE Pittsburgh has entrusted us once again to support and enhance the continued success of its programs under this new emergency power contract," said Tom Lewis, president of Louis Berger's Group operating company. In 2013, Louis Berger was awarded a $50 million, five-year USACE Pittsburgh District contract to provide temporary emergency power to critical public facilities located in FEMA Regions I, II, and III.
