Mikael Silvennoinen to join Metsäliitto Cooperative's Board of Directors

At a meeting held on 5 November, the Supervisory Board of Metsä Group's parent company, Metsäliitto Cooperative, elected Mikael Silvennoinen (58), M.Sc. (Econ.), to be a new member of the Board of Directors as of 1 January 2015. Silvennoinen currently works as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for executive search company IMS Talent. Before his current position, Silvennoinen had a long career with the Pohjola Group, most recently (1997–2013) as the President and CEO of Pohjola Bank Plc.

In accordance with the rules of the Cooperative, Eino Halonen, who has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2006, will resign having turned the age of 65.

The meeting also resolved to pay the following remuneration to the chairman and members of the Board of Directors in 2015: the monthly remuneration  to the chairman of the Cooperative's Board will be EUR 6,700 (EUR 5,800 in 2014) and the monthly remuneration for Board members will be EUR 3,700 (EUR 3,200 in 2014).
