Caverion provides building systems for Baxter in Austria

Caverion has entered into a contract with the pharmaceutical group Baxter in the framework of a consortium with Molin. Caverion is to install compressed air, heating, steam, air conditioning, sanitation and sprinkler systems for the industry client Baxter’s production plant in Krems, Austria. The total value of the contract is over EUR 10 million and Caverion’s part covers project management and execution. Caverion has already started the work on site and will be completed in June 2015.

A total surface area of over 15,000 m² includes the production areas and the related office and communal areas in which Caverion is responsible for ensuring balanced room air-conditioning. Using an energy control centre, the building will be supplied with energy-efficient heating, cooling and compressed air. Cleanrooms in the production area will be equipped in line with extremely high standards.

Heating energy will be supplied by two natural gas-powered steam boilers. Refrigeration is being increased to a total output of 3.5 MW with a further option to increase to 5 MW.

The consortium partner Molin will be responsible for installing the ventilation and process refrigeration systems.
