Racemi Announces Support for Automated Migrations Directly into AWS GovCloud (US)

Also delivers support for workload migration to Amazon VPC

ATLANTA, Nov. 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Racemi today announced support for direct workload migration into the AWS GovCloud (US) Region as well as support for Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) through its automated cloud migration software, DynaCenter.

"By migrating workloads directly to AWS GovCloud (US), we make the workload migration process faster and more cost-effective," said James Strayer, vice president of product management, Racemi. "This is something the market has been demanding, as it makes migrating into regulated, privately networked environments a much more automated process."

Racemi's DynaCenter migration software captures the entire server stack--including operating system, applications, and configuration--and automatically converts it to run on the AWS Cloud by applying the necessary tools, drivers, and Amazon VPC networking configuration during the migration process. This ensures existing workloads are migrated in their time-tested configuration, resulting in improved reliability and reduced support requirements. Once the migration is finished and the customer's verification testing complete, the software allows the customer to synchronize the latest data changes between the original production machine and the new Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instance prior to cut over. Racemi has provided support for migrations to AWS for the past four years.

In addition, Racemi DynaCenter has integrated support for AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) for governing secure control of users and access to AWS resources, as well as AWS Security Token Service (STS) for granting users with temporary, limited access to AWS resources. This ensures that enterprise customers have fine-grained control over what permissions they give Racemi technology during a migration to help customers maintain established security and compliance policies.

"Our customers are always looking for efficient and secure ways to move existing workloads to Amazon VPC or AWS GovCloud (US)," said Teresa Carlson, vice president, worldwide Public Sector, Amazon Web Services, Inc. "Racemi helps by automating the entire migration process, so that customers can get to work quickly."

Racemi will demonstrate its cloud migration software at the AWS re:Invent 2014 user conference this week in Las Vegas, booth 122, next to the AWS Professional Services booth.
