Informatica's Data Enablement Portfolio Makes It Easy for Customers to On-Ramp with AWS

Las Vegas, Nevada - re:Invent 2014, Nov. 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- at re:Invent 2014 today, Informatica Corporation (Nasdaq:INFA), the world's leading independent provider of data integration software, announced they are all-in on Amazon Web Services (AWS). With today's announcement, Informatica Cloud is moving to AWS as its underlying infrastructure.

Informatica's broad portfolio of data integration, data quality and master data management solutions will offer native connectivity to AWS services, making it easier for customers to operate in a hybrid cloud environment. Finally, Informatica on AWS will make it easier for customers to deploy and manage enterprise-class data enablement solutions, such as Informatica PowerCenter, to the cloud for greater agility and lower operating cost.

Informatica is demonstrating its data enablement solutions for AWS at re:Invent, Nov. 11-14, in Booth #1031 (Venetian / Sands, Hall C).

Addressing the Data Silo Problem

As data proliferates across numerous applications and sources, companies are working to keep up. With Informatica delivering deeper integration on AWS, customers will be able to take better advantage of their data no matter where it lies, whether it be on-premises or in the cloud.

"Informatica Cloud and Amazon Redshift are the foundation of our customer analytics capabilities that encompass data integration, data warehousing and advanced reporting and analytics," said Amandeep Sandhu, vice president, customer insight, UBM Tech. "The combined solution enables us to consolidate demographic and behavior data from multiple on-premise and cloud systems, create an integrated view of our customers and provide visibility to customer information that helps improves understanding of our customers and drives key decision making. The result, now, is that predictive analytics drives the majority of our marketing efforts with double-digit improvements in uplift for our marketing activities."

New Support for AWS Services

As part of today's announcement, Informatica is introducing a number of new Informatica Cloud integrations with AWS services, including connectors for Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Elastic MapReduce (Amazon EMR), Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) and Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), to complement existing connectors for Amazon Redshift and Amazon Kinesis. Additionally, the latest Informatica Cloud release for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) includes support for:

  • PowerCenter Standard Edition and Data Quality Standard Edition
  • Scaling options - Grid, high availability, pushdown optimization, partitioning
  • Connectivity to Amazon RDS and Amazon Redshift
  • Domain and repository DB in Amazon RDS for current database PAM (policies and measures)

"Informatica's customers look to them to gain competitive advantage by having timely access to relevant data for business initiatives," said Adam Selipsky, Vice President, Amazon Web Services, Inc. "Taking advantage of AWS's rich platform, operational excellence, and rapid pace of innovation as their customers' cloud infrastructure, Informatica is able to focus all of its energy on developing the data integration and analytics solutions their customers rely on, leaving the undifferentiated heavy lifting of managing infrastructure to AWS."

Cloud Journey Roadmap

Looking ahead, Informatica will continue broadening connectivity to AWS services and supporting new use cases around Internet of Things (IoT), mobile, customer behavior, security and fraud detection. To this end, Informatica's complex event processing solution, Informatica RulePoint, will soon be available for use on AWS with out-of-the-box connectivity to Amazon Kinesis to help enterprises take better advantage of real-time streaming data.

"As companies embark on their journey to the cloud, they are increasingly adopting AWS as their global IT infrastructure to gain agility, speed to market and flexibility," said Anil Chakravarthy, executive vice president and chief product officer, Informatica. "Informatica's portfolio is designed to help customers innovate to their next-generation, data-ready compute infrastructure with pre-built interoperability with AWS services for every use case along their cloud journey, including lift and shift, hybrid cloud and on-premises integration, cloud data warehousing and large scale analytics."
