INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 17, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Angie's List (Nasdaq:ANGI), a local services marketplace and provider of reviews, today announced the launch of a new application that puts the full power of Angie's List literally at consumers' fingertips. The new app is also an important signal of the company's increasing focus on mobile experiences as a platform for future growth.
"Our new app gives consumers three incredibly easy ways to get work done: search for providers; shop for specific home improvement services; and SnapFix a project, which is our revolutionary new feature that eliminates the hassle of hiring a pro," said Angie's List Founder Angie Hicks.
The iOS app updates prior mobile offerings with expanded functionality and a cleaner, sleeker, modern design. Highlights include updated imagery, brighter colors and a simpler, more intuitive interface. The SnapFix feature, which had been released in beta as a separate app, is now part of the core mobile experience.
"The app makes it easy," Hicks said. "But it's our ability to motivate the local service industry that drives it."
Because Angie's List has been gathering consumer reviews and working with millions of highly rated service professionals for nearly 20 years, it has a deep reach into the home improvement/service industry. It's that reach and those relationships that enables Angie's List to provide good help so fast to so many consumers.
The update represents a huge stride in the company's mobile offerings and coincides with Angie's List helping ease transactions between consumers and service companies.
"We studied our members' behavior and directly asked them what they want from us," Hicks said. "As a result, we're not just connecting them to highly rated service companies through a swipe or a click, we're stepping into the transaction, improving their experiences start to finish."
Angie's List helps facilitate happy transactions between nearly 3 million consumers nationwide and its collection of highly-rated service providers in 720 categories of service, ranging from home improvement to health care. Built on a foundation of authentic reviews of local service, Angie's List connects consumers directly to its online marketplace of services from member-reviewed providers, and offers unique tools and support designed to improve the local service experience for both consumers and service professionals.
