OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 25, 2014) - Excitement is building for the tenth anniversary of the Shaw Rocket Prize! Each year, the Shaw Rocket Fund invites Canadian producers to submit their programming for the chance to win the Shaw Rocket Prize, an initiative which celebrates and promotes the best in Canadian kids programming.
Three prizes of $25,000 each will be handed out for Best Preschool (5-Years and Under) Program, Best Children (6-12 Years) Program and Best Youth or Family (13-17 Years) Program. Since its inception in 2004, the initiative has awarded a total of $475,000 in prize money.
Cast and crew, industry representatives, members of the Ottawa and political community and media will be once again attending the ceremony at the Fairmont Château Laurier Hotel to find out who will win.
Attendance at the Ottawa event is once again encouraged and, for those covering, interview requests are being accepted for advance coverage as well as following the announcement of the winners.
The evening will be co-hosted by Tom Clark and Sangita Patel and prizes will be awarded by the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
