Thirty-One Gifts Makes 1 Millionth Donation to TODAY Show Toy Drive

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 25, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Columbus-based Thirty-One Gifts make its fifth appearance on the TODAY Show December 2, donating its one millionth product during the 20th Annual TODAY Show Holiday Toy and Gift Drive through its philanthropic initiative, Thirty-One Gives.

During the 10:00 (EST) hour of the show during the TODAY Kathie Lee and Hoda segment, Thirty-One's Founder, President and CEO Cindy Monroe will appear with Emily Oliver-Jones, a Thirty-One senior executive director from New Washington, Indiana, to announce the donation.

The gifts will be delivered to the charities nationwide by many of Thirty-One's 115,000 sales consultant leaders during the holidays.

Thirty-One this year is donating more than 250,000 products valued at more than $9 million. The products will go to 90 charitable organizations across the U.S. With this donation, the total value of the one million products donated over five years is $24 million.

Thirty-One Gifts is headquartered in Columbus and is one of the leading direct-selling companies in the U.S. They offer purses and totes, home organization solutions and more. They will be donating a variety of their products to the toy drive.

Thirty-One appears on the show through a partnership with the Direct Selling Association, and represents the direct selling industry with their donation. Partnering with the TODAY Show Toy Drive through the Direct Selling Association has become a holiday tradition for Thirty-One Gives.

"We are delighted and feel so blessed to be able to participate in the show," said Monroe. "Our charitable mission, through Thirty-One Gives, is to assist organizations that support girls, women and families, and to pay back the many blessings we have received as a company. The TODAY Show makes it easy for us to enable our many sales consultants across to country to be involved with the donation too by selecting local charities where they can deliver the products."

Thirty-One Gifts, through Thirty-One Gives, has donated more than $36 million in cash and products since the philanthropic initiative was founded in February 2012. This holiday season they also are participating in Giving Tuesday, December 2, by working with World Vision to provide 3,100 Hope Kit totes filled with personal hygiene items for a woman or girl in need in the U. S. on behalf of the first 3,100 donors to World Vision that day.
