(Nasdaq:IDCC), a mobile technology research and development company, today announced that its Innovation Partners unit has entered into a collaboration agreement with McGill University in Montreal, Canada, a top rated university for both undergraduate and graduate studies and research. The collaboration, which explores new forms of mobile information delivery, is funded by a grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada.
As smartphones and emerging wearable devices have garnered mass market acceptance, the need to improve the way consumers interact with these technologies demands new approaches that will form the foundation of human computer interaction models for years to come.

Dr. Cooperstock's research investigates the opportunities to exploit other communication modalities, including haptics, to reduce the cognitive and attentional demands imposed by technology.
