Raptor Pharmaceutical Reports Inducement Grants Under NASDAQ Listing Rule 5635(c)(4)


NOVATO, Calif., Dec. 1, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Raptor Pharmaceutical Corp. (Nasdaq:RPTP) today announced that on November 25, 2014, as a key requirement of the Company's strategy of strengthening its leadership team and employee base, continuing the expansion of its commercial activities into new territories, and increasing the expansion of its product development programs, the board of directors approved inducement stock option awards to new hire employees pursuant to the Raptor Pharmaceutical Corp. 2014 Employment Commencement Stock Incentive Plan. The plan was approved by the board of directors under Rule 5635(c)(4) of the Nasdaq Global Select Market for equity grants to induce new employees to enter into employment with the Company. The grants consisted of stock options to purchase an aggregate of 217,288 shares of the Company's common stock to six new employees and an option to purchase 165,000 shares to David Happel, the Company's new Chief Commercial Officer, each with a per share exercise price of $9.92, the closing price on the trading date immediately prior to the grant date.
