Frontier Launches Local Shopping Guides, the Official Directories for Connecticut

HARTFORD, Conn., Dec. 1, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Frontier Communications (Nasdaq:FTR) and its publisher, The Berry Company, LLC announced today that they will release three local shopping guides for the entire state of Connecticut. Frontier recently completed its acquisition of AT&T Inc.'s wireline business, statewide fiber network, and U-verse operations in Connecticut, becoming the state's newest local communications provider. In keeping with the company's emphasis on being locally engaged, the official Frontier local shopping guides will more efficiently and effectively connect consumers to small businesses.

"Last year, consumers needed 19 directories to cover the entire state of Connecticut. We are pleased to announce the Frontier local shopping guide will cover the same area in just three directories," said Ray Carulli, branch manager of The Berry Company in Connecticut. "Not only is this a more superior and effective product, but for advertisers, the books are up to 75 percent less expensive than the elaborate traditional directories."

Carulli added, "These local shopping guides are unlike anything else in the market or elsewhere in the country. It is the only directory purpose-built for the 21st century consumer."

The Shopping Guides feature a local "Best of" section, highlighting local favorites. The guides will also deliver a more a high-tech solution to Connecticut, offering SnapTag technology. SnapTags will be found throughout the book and are similar to QR codes but offer more features for both advertisers and consumers. Instead of simply taking consumers to a link, SnapTags open up a whole new line of interactive communication.

"At Frontier, we are looking for ways to bring real value to our Connecticut customers," said Paul Quick, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Frontier Communications. "We are very excited to partner with The Berry Company on this innovative, leading-edge shopping guide."

The partnership with The Berry Company also opens the door to a suite of powerful digital solutions that complement and extend the reach of the local shopping guide into the digital realm. Connecticut customers will now be able to buy LocalVox's state-of-the-art LocalCast technology to help them manage 1-to-1 customer marketing and messaging to their websites, local publishers, deal sites, social media, directories, mobile and email – all through a robust online and mobile dashboard.

"Frontier customers will now be able to buy an easy, cloud-based marketing platform that efficiently manages marketing investments and tracks advertising campaigns across various online, mobile and social channels," said Carulli.
