ACETO Receives SEC Approval to Change its SIC Code to 5122

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., Dec. 4, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ACETO Corporation (Nasdaq:ACET), a global leader in the marketing, sale and distribution of products for Human Health, Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Performance Chemicals, today announced that the Securities and Exchange Commission has approved the Company's request to change its SIC code from 5160, Wholesale – Chemicals and Allied Products, to 5122, Wholesale- Drugs, Proprietaries and Druggists' Sundries, effective immediately.

"Changing our SIC code underscores the transformation of ACETO to a human health-oriented company," said Sal Guccione, Chief Executive Officer of ACETO. "Since fiscal 2010, we have expanded our footprint in the pharma industry, increasing the contribution of pharma-related businesses from around half to just over two-thirds of total company revenue and gross profit. With the acquisition last April of PACK Pharmaceutical, a national marketer and distributor of generic prescription and over-the-counter pharmaceutical products, we strengthened our presence in the higher-margin end of the pharma supply chain and laid the foundation for solid revenue growth, margin expansion and increasing returns over the next three to five years."
