Death of an Inmate at Regional Psychiatric Centre (Prairies)

On December 8, 2014, Leon Joseph Hamilton, a patient at Regional Psychiatric Centre (Prairies) died at a local hospital in Saskatoon.

At the time of his death, Mr. Hamilton, 64 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence for Robbery, Utter Threats To Cause Death or Harm and Assault Peace Officer since December 20, 1995.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
