Demartek Publishes Evaluation of HP StoreFabric SN1100E 16Gb Fibre Channel HBA

GOLDEN, CO--(Marketwired - Dec 10, 2014) - Demartek announces its evaluation of the HP StoreFabric SN1100E 16Gb Fibre Channel HBA.

"We tested an end-to-end 16Gb Fibre Channel (16GFC) server and storage configuration, an end-to-end 8Gb Fibre Channel (8GFC) configuration and a mixed 16GFC and 8GFC configuration for our database workload test," said Dennis Martin, Demartek President. "Using technologies from HP, Brocade and Emulex, the all 16Gb Fibre Channel configuration doubled the peak throughput and completed the workload 28% faster than the all 8Gb Fibre Channel configuration. We also observed latency improvements of 50% and 75% in these tests. We have concluded that faster storage networking technology such as Gen 5 Fibre Channel is well-suited to SSD and virtualization technologies that are available today and will be delivered over the next one to two years."
