Caverion assumes responsibility for technical maintenance of Fingrid’s electricity substations in Lapland, Finland

Caverion and Fingrid, company taking care of the nation-wide high-voltage grid in Finland, have signed an agreement on the basic maintenance of substations in Finnish Lapland’s main grid region in 2015–2017. The technical maintenance agreement covers the basic maintenance of substations such as equipment service and substation inspections. Fingrid has divided its main grid into eight regions, of which the Lapland’s region is the northernmost.

The agreement also enables Caverion to secure separate projects in the Lapland main grid area where Fingrid Oyj will make further investments within the next few years.

“The new agreement facilitates development of our operations to better match Fingrid’s needs. During the agreement period we also aim to expand our operations into other Fingrid main grid regions besides Lapland,” says Business Development Director Jukka Luotolinna from Caverion Industria.

”Safety is one of the cornerstones of our operations, and we have also taken into account Caverion’s actions to develop occupational safety. In addition to daily basic work, we consider the agreement to provide us with added value for our development activities,” says Kari Kuusela, Executive Vice President at Fingrid.

Fingrid belongs to Caverion’s Industry client segment.
