ALM Announces Partnership With Stanford Think Tank CodeX

Collaboration Will Provide New Educational Content at LegalTech Tradeshows and Help Bring New Companies to Market

NEW YORK, Jan. 9, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ALM, the world's largest legal media company and a leading provider of legal intelligence services, announced collaboration with CodeX: The Stanford Center for Legal Informatics, a think tank of Stanford faculty and students, as well as professionals from key organizations working on the frontier of legal technology. The partnership will help provide compelling new educational content at both ALM's LegalTech New York and LegalTech West Coast, the premier legal technology events in the U.S.

CodeX legally empowers individuals through information technology by aiming to solve the systemic information problems in the law through the exchange of ideas around legal technology that will impact our legal system for the better. A primary focus of its researchers is the development and implementation of computational law, the use of computers to translate legal rules and regulations at a moment's notice.

"This new partnership between ALM and CodeX is particularly exciting because of our shared desire to build a strong community of legal technology professionals," said Henry Dicker, vice president, ALM Events. "The deal is a reflection of our commitment to this rapidly expanding field; we believe it will add an exciting new component to our popular LegalTech conferences and introduce attendees to computational tools that will simplify compliance, consistency and transparency."

In addition to utilizing their legal informatics resources, ALM will be working with the CodeX team to introduce new companies to a market of nearly 13,000 LegalTech attendees by providing packages to eligible companies that offer a free exhibit space in a new pavilion on the trade show floor, as well as the opportunity to host thought leadership presentations on the pavilion stage.
