RICHMOND, Va., Jan. 9, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that it has elected Calvin W. "Woody" Fowler, Jr. as the law firm's next CEO and President. Mr. Fowler, who currently serves as Practice Group Chair and Chair of the firm's Litigation Section, will succeed Thomas R. Frantz in this role beginning April 1, 2015.
Mr. Frantz will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board and expand his legal practice as a Chambers-ranked attorney focused on business planning, succession and corporate transactions. Mr. Frantz will also continue to promote Williams Mullen's leadership role in regional and statewide economic growth initiatives.

Mr. Fowler is a seasoned attorney with 27 years of experience as a highly regarded litigator. For 11 years, he has led Williams Mullen's Litigation Section, one of the firm's two largest practice groups. In addition, approximately two years ago, he was appointed to serve as the Practice Group Chair, a position that oversees all of the firm's practices. Mr. Fowler was also the driving force behind firm initiatives designed to improve the efficiency, cost effectiveness and quality of services provided to clients.
