Bona Film Group's Latest Blockbuster "The Taking of Tiger Mountain" Tops RMB800 Million in Box Office Receipts

Bona's Highest Grossing Film To-Date Leads China Box Office Since Its December 24 Release


BEIJING, Jan. 13, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bona Film Group Limited ("Bona" or the "Company") (Nasdaq:BONA), a leading film distributor and vertically integrated film company in China, today announced that its most recent blockbuster film, "The Taking of Tiger Mountain," has generated over RMB800 million (US$130 million) in domestic box office receipts, as of January 12, 2015, becoming Bona's highest grossing film to date, ranking as one of the top 10 highest box office films released in Mainland China including imported films. The film was released nationwide in China on December 24, 2014, and has led the China box office for the last three weeks. Furthermore, the box office of the film is continuing its momentum throughout the remainder of its theatrical run.

The Taking of Tiger Mountain was directed by Tsui Hark, and stars Hanyu Zhang, Tony Leung, Gengxin Lin, Nan Yu and Liya Tong. The film is based on an extremely well known Chinese folk tale called "Tracks in the Snowy Forrest" and incorporates the most advanced 3D and computer graphics technology.
