In its decision issued on 19 January 2015, the Finnish Energy Authority has appointed Fingrid Oyj as the distribution system operator responsible for the transmission grid, as referred to in the Electricity Market Act, and has granted the company a licence to operate the electricity transmission system in the national grid. The electricity network licence is valid until further notice.
The decision nullifies the previous electricity network licence granted in 1997.
