Howard Law, P.C. to Tackle Cal State Fullerton Pay Discrimination Cases Made by Female Employees

Law Firm Seeks to Ensure Level Playing Field in Employee Salaries

COSTA MESA, Calif., Jan. 22, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Howard Law, P.C., a nationally recognized consumer protection law firm headquartered in Orange County, California (http://howardlawpc.com), announced today that it had been retained as counsel for multiple female employees of the California State University Fullerton campus who are alleging that the campus willingly engaged in blatant wage discrimination between male and female employees in at least one of the departments on campus.

The wage discrimination allegations being raised by CSUF female employees point to nearly a decade of wage inequality between female employees and equivalent male employees who were hired at approximately the same time and engaged in approximately the same work.

"These are serious allegations," said Vincent Howard, founding shareholder of Howard Law, P.C., and lead attorney for the plaintiffs. "This isn't 1940 anymore, employers are not allowed to pay women less than men for essentially performing the same services and being held to the same work standards as their male counterparts."

Howard cites California employment wage laws as stating, "No employer shall pay any individual in the employer's employ at wage rates less than the rates paid to employees of the opposite sex in the same establishment for equal work on jobs the performance of which requires equal skill, effort, and responsibility, and which are performed under similar working conditions…"

"One of our main concerns at the moment," added Vincent Howard, "is how many women this affects, how many departments are involved, and whether this is an isolated incident confined only to Cal State Fullerton – or whether it extends to female employees at other university campuses throughout the state."

Howard Law P.C. is encouraging any female employee who can substantiate their claim that they were being paid less than male employees doing essentially the same work, to contact their offices so that their concerns may be addressed by the firm.

Joining Howard Law P.C. as Co-counsel in the California State University Fullerton Campus wage discrimination matter is respected attorney Terry K. Davis. "Any woman who feels as though they are being financially exploited should contact us," said Mr. Davis. "If they do file a complaint against the university, they should also know that the law prevents them from being terminated in a retaliatory manner for seeking a legal resolution to their problem."
