Caverion to continue technical maintenance and managed operations of Finnair’s properties in Finland

Caverion and airline company Finnair have signed an agreement on the technical maintenance and managed operations as well as advisory services of Finnair’s properties in Finland. The agreement includes over 30 Finnair sites, totalling about 170,000 m2, in the Helsinki-Vantaa airport and its immediate vicinity. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the agreement.

The period of agreement is two years, after which the agreement will remain valid until further notice. The service agreement continues the cooperation that commenced in 2007.

Caverion will provide technical maintenance of heating and sanitation, ventilation and air conditioning, cooling, electricity, security and safety, automation, information and communication systems. The properties are connected to Caverion’s property control room, which enables management of the systems in a more energy efficient way.

Caverion produces technical services also for service providers operating in Finnair’s properties. Their activities are related to catering, ground handling, aircraft de-icing and maintenance. Caverion is also responsible for CCTV and access control as well as related software for the security control.

“Caverion was by far the best option for us. The new agreement also includes developing of more efficient operating models. We will also continue our work for sustainable development and energy efficiency, and in this, Caverion’s know-how and expertise support our objectives,” says Pekka Kuosmanen, Assistant Vice President, Finnair Facility Team.

“We have developed operating practices in close cooperation, and have therefore been able to influence the cost structure. Caverion has committed itself to Finnair’s cost-reduction programmes, in particular by proposing solutions that improve energy efficiency in buildings. Together the companies have achieved energy cost savings of about EUR 2.5 million during the past five years. We are glad to continue the cooperation and developing of our services for Finnair,” says Jarno Hacklin, Managing Director at Caverion Finland.

Finnair belongs to Caverion’s client segments real estate owners and real estate users.
