"The USHCC is thrilled to have BP America's Felipe Bayon join our board of directors," said USHCC President and CEO Javier Palomarez. "Felipe has played a critical role within a company that is powering our nation's business future and supporting economic growth in communities from coast to coast. "Having served on the Houston Hispanic Chamber Board for three years, I've seen the power of organizations such as this," Bayon said. "Now, as a member of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board, I'll be privileged to help steer an organization that is not only the nation's leading advocate for Hispanic business men and women but also a significant voice in the U.S. business community as a whole. It's an organization with an important mission that all of us at BP support and I look forward to being directly involved in its leadership."

Bayon has more than 23 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, holding a range of business leadership and technical managerial roles. He is currently a member of the BP America leadership team.

BP America will serve as the corporate chair for the USHCC's 2015 National Convention, set to take place Sept. 20-22, 2015, in Houston, Texas. The annual convention is a premier event for America's small business community, convening thousands of Hispanic entrepreneurs, national and international corporate executives, top government officials, and representatives from local chambers and business associations throughout the country.

"Felipe Bayon is a phenomenal addition to the USHCC board of directors," said USHCC Chairman of Nominations and Governance Don Salazar. "I have no doubt that he will advance our association's commitment to America's business future, and look I forward to working together in Houston this year."
