IPC Healthcare Acquires Selected Assets of Hospitalists Now, Inc., Expanding IPC's Presence in Florida

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Jan. 30, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IPC Healthcare, Inc. (Nasdaq:IPCM), a leading national acute hospitalist and post-acute provider organization, announced today that it has acquired selected assets of Hospitalists Now, Inc. (HNI) in the Jacksonville, Florida market. HNI will continue to operate its hospitalist programs outside of the Jacksonville market.

HNI CEO and Founder Michael Gonzales said, "As healthcare continues to evolve to a model of more effectively coordinated and accountable care, HNI is looking for partnerships that improve clinical quality and increase value to our client hospitals and providers. In the Jacksonville market, we realized that HNI and IPC have common clients and decided that a collaborative approach would be of greatest benefit to the community. As part of this acquisition, HNI providers are joining the IPC team and will benefit from IPC's scale and infrastructure. At the same time, these providers will continue to use HNI's proprietary HM Vital SignsTM, a hospitalist management software suite, under a licensing agreement with IPC. HM Vital Signs'TM unique workflow and analytics tools will complement IPC's existing tools to enhance performance and outcomes."

R. Jeffrey Taylor, president and COO of IPC Healthcare, commented: "We are excited about this acquisition and the expansion it affords us with key clients in Jacksonville. This acquisition combines the strengths of both organizations in order to provide greater depth of coverage, superior focus on performance metrics, and an overall stronger service to the greater Jacksonville community."

The patient encounters for the practice are estimated at approximately 61,000 on a combined annualized basis.
