LMI Aerospace, Inc. Announces Boeing Performance Award, Expanded EASA Approval

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 9, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LMI Aerospace, Inc. (LMIA) ("LMI" or the "Company"), a leading supplier of structural assemblies, kits and components and provider of design engineering services to the aerospace and defense industries, today announced two important successes for its Engineering Services business.

On January 29, The Boeing Company ("Boeing") presented LMI with a Boeing Performance Excellence Award. LMI maintained a Silver performance rating for its Engineering Services segment each month of the performance period, from Oct. 1, 2013, to Sept. 30, 2014. Boeing issues the award annually to recognize suppliers who have achieved superior performance.

"We are honored to receive this prestigious award," said Dan Korte, Chief Executive Officer of LMI. "Acknowledgement from our customer that we are performing above standards is an ideal accomplishment. Boeing is an important customer for LMI and we will continue to strive toward excellence."

The Company also announced that the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has granted the Company's United Kingdom subsidiary an extended scope to its Design Organisation Approval (DOA) No. EASA.21J.467 to include major repairs.

"We are very pleased by EASA's decision to expand our scope of approved work in Europe, opening the door for top line growth in aircraft service, repair, and maintenance for LMI," said Brian Olsen, Acting President, Engineering Services. "We expect this new designation will strengthen our relationships with existing customers and provide a variety of new business development opportunities."

LMI's Engineering Services group provides aviation design services on modifications and repairs to airlines, Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) enterprises, leasing companies, Continuing Airworthiness Management Organizations (CAMO), and production companies around the globe. The expanded EASA scope increases LMI's market opportunity in Europe to include the following major categories: Aircraft and Rotorcraft Certification – Large and Small; Minor Modifications and Supplemental Type Certificates; STCs, Minor and Major Repairs; Temporary Repair Authorization; Test Conformity / Test Oversight; Aircraft Import; Design Support; Structures; Fatigue and Damage Tolerance; Avionics/Electrical; Cabin Safety; and Engines.
