USHCC Announces Visa as 2015 Legislative Summit Corporate Chair

WASHINGTON, Feb. 9, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) has announced Visa Inc. as the Corporate Chair for its 2015 Legislative Summit, scheduled to take place March 24-26, 2015 at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. The Summit - the USHCC's premier political and legislative advocacy event - offers guests the opportunity to meet, engage and partner with business leaders, corporate executives, legislative and policy experts, and government officials.

"As a longstanding partner of our association, Visa continues to be a true champion of small and minority-owned firms, providing local Hispanic chambers, USHCC members, and businesses of all sizes with the financial tools for growth and security," said USHCC President & CEO Javier Palomarez. "As the Corporate Chair for our 2015 Legislative Summit, Visa will undoubtedly raise the caliber of our event and inspire a productive, meaningful gathering that will further ensure the needs of our constituency are at the forefront of our nation's economic agenda."

Last year, the USHCC held the most successful Legislative Summit in its 35 year history. Businesses and local chambers engaged 62 members of Congress, including 32 Democrats and 30 Republicans. Guests heard from our nation's most prominent political leaders, including Vice President Joe Biden, Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, Congressman Paul Ryan and Senator John McCain -- making it among the only bipartisan gatherings of elected officials, corporate executives, and business leaders in America.

"The US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's Legislative Summit provides the country's 3.2 million Hispanic-owned businesses the opportunity to engage with top lawmakers in DC," said Bobby Thomson, head of U.S. government relations at Visa. "Visa believes this type of meaningful dialogue between business owners and elected officials is key to the continued success of our economy, and we are proud to partner with the USHCC to ensure small business concerns are at the forefront of the legislative agenda in DC."

By partnering with Visa, businesses within the USHCC network are able to receive guaranteed payments and greater risk management protection, while also providing more efficient point-of-sale experiences for their customers through the use of Visa's innovative small business products. Visa provides business owners with online resources to gain a deeper understanding of their finances through programs such as Small Business Assist and WellSourced by Visa Business.
