Couple Claims the Second $1 Million Second Place Powerball(R) Prize


PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwired - Feb 17, 2015) - The Arizona Lottery announces the second of the two $1 million Powerball second prize winning tickets sold in Arizona from the drawing on Wednesday, Feb. 11, has been claimed.

Buckeye residents Walden and Becky Bruce purchased the winning ticket at the Giant Store at 251 N. Frontage Road in Pearce, AZ. The couple plans to share the prize money with their family.

"It has really been a great few weeks for Arizona winners. We are overjoyed to see another Arizona winner claim their ticket," said Karen Bach, director of budget, products, and communications for the Arizona Lottery.

Powerball offers many appealing features to players. The starting jackpot is $40 million, and the second prize for matching all five numbers, without the Powerball, is $1 million.

The next Powerball drawing is on Wednesday, Feb. 18, for an estimated $50 million jackpot. Tickets can be purchased at any Arizona Lottery retailer.

Players must be 21 years or older to purchase or redeem tickets. Winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize at an Arizona Lottery office or by mail. Overall odds vary by game.
