Ecotech Institute Hosts Free "Heads Up!" Online Event: February 24, 2015

Hear How Men and Women in Renewable Energy Learn, Train and Deal With Everyday On-the-Job Adventures

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Feb 20, 2015) - On Tuesday, February 24, Ecotech Institute, the first and only school in the U.S. solely focused on renewable energy and sustainability, is hosting "Heads Up!," a digital discussion with Mr. Alden Zeitz of Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative. The free forum will begin at noon MST and center around what it's like to work in renewables, including how to handle and prevent dropped objects from tall heights. Small, unsecured objects mean big problems in this industry!

"We're excited to host Alden and a discussion about an important safety issue in the renewable energy field," said Zhanna Stavina, director of enrollment at Ecotech Institute. "Working in the renewable energy and sustainability industry isn't just a job, it's an adventure! We want our students to be prepared for those everyday adventures, and Alden can offer extensive insight."

Zeitz is a manager of renewable energy services for Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative and offers a wealth of experience in the wind energy sector. He is a member of the American Wind Energy Association, the AWEA Safety Committee, AWEA Operations & Maintenance Working Group and the AWAE Education Working Group. Zeitz is also responsible for the development of curriculum, syllabi and laboratory work for the pioneering wind energy and turbine technology program at Ecotech Institute.
