White Oaks Veterinary Clinic Veterinarians Return From Continuing Education Program

EDMOND, Okla., Feb. 22, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Veterinarians Dr. Jennifer Bianchi and Dr. Mark Bianchi announced that they completed an intensive five-day continuing education training program. The veterinarians attended the North American Veterinary Conference in Orlando, Florida. The veterinarians maintained an intense schedule, starting their days at 6:30am and extending until 9:00pm. Topics included the newest techniques in ultrasound, ocular surgeries, and general medicine and surgery, as well as updates on emerging diseases. The conference attendance is part of White Oaks Veterinary Clinic's commitment to continuing education in order to provide the highest quality veterinary care through advanced disease diagnosis and cutting-edge technology.

February is set to be a busy month at White Oaks Veterinary Clinic. Two of the clinic's veterinarians, Dr. Jennifer Bianchi and Dr. Mark Bianchi, have just returned from intensive continuing education training at the North American Veterinary Conference in Orlando, Florida and will be utilizing their new knowledge about infectious diseases and diagnostic protocol at the clinic.

Additional clinic veterinarians are also scheduled to participate in continuing education training during the month of February. Edmond veterinarian Dr. Jason Smart will have 4 days of lectures and labs while at the Western States Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas. In addition, Dr. Bohi has been selected for an intensive four-day course in clinical applicable medicine and surgery at the International Veterinary Symposium.

The clinic's RVT Naomi Felde and technician students Meghan MacAnally and Emily Apel recently returned from the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Conference. They received three days of lectures to better their nursing skills at White Oaks Veterinary Clinic.

"One of the things that makes our veterinary clinic unique is our commitment to continuing education for everyone, be that our veterinarians or our technician students," said Dr. Jennifer Bianchi. "We recognize that veterinary care is a dynamic, evolving profession with new technology and infectious disease knowledge having a major impact on this profession. We strive to stay up to date at all times in order to provide the best possible care for our patients."

During the month of February, White Oaks Veterinary Clinic is also celebrating 'Dental Awareness Month' by reminding pet owners about the importance of regular dental cleanings for pet health.

"Many pet owners do not realize that routine dental cleanings are an important part of wellness care," said Dr. Bianchi. "While at the North American Veterinary Conference earlier this year, we were reminded during several continuing education seminars just how important dental care truly is for pets. Since February is 'pet dental awareness month,' we are using this month to highlight the importance of dental care and to encourage pet owners to schedule a cleaning for their pets."
