SmartMetric Brings Biometric Security to Your Credit Card - Chip Cards to Have Added Biometric Security Using a Fully Functional Fingerprint Reader Embedded Inside Credit and Debit Cards

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Feb 23, 2015) -  SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB: SMME) - SmartMetric has developed a biometric fingerprint scanner that fits inside a credit or debit card that is used for the ultimate protection against identity and payments card theft. According to the company they have achieved creating a fully functional fingerprint reader that sits inside the user's credit card and is powered by a rechargeable battery.

The SmartMetric Biometric payments card works with the new chip cards that are now replacing the 40 year old and vulnerable mag stripe technology with more than 2.3 billion chip cards now issued around the world. SmartMetric uses the card holder's fingerprint to activate the new chip card which in effect ties the credit card to the user.

The company is in discussions with card issuing financial institutions around the world and is very pleased with the reception its biometric safeguarded card is receiving said the company President & CEO, Chaya Hendrick today. The company is also pleased to see that it is the only known company to have created a "chip" card with a rechargeable battery. Chaya Hendrick said that developing the cards internal power management system has taken a long time in research and development but was worth the effort to have a stable power source within the card. Because the SmartMetric card is very much like a very small computer, having its own CPR to power the fingerprint scanning it required a powerful internal and rechargeable power source in order to make the card operate for longer than a couple of months. We have seen other companies announce variations of the SmartMetric Biometric card but these companies do not have either rechargeable batteries or they don't work with the banking industry chip card technology. Having a card that can only work for a few months is a joke said Chaya Hendrick who is glad in her opinion that SmartMetric has put in the time and effort to building a first rate product without peer.
